Life in the 719... Colorado Springs
B-Rad, Dirt, House, Machizzle, Volt, Shysta, & "Rog"... aka... Braden, Austin, Scott, Jace, Ben, Jason, and Logan. That makes a little more sense haha? I welcome you all to the city where such nicknames exist, but don't worry... it's not as crazy as things may seem! I know that I am a blessed young adult for having been given Colorado Springs. I was given a sure foundation full of experience, opportunities, and success. My young life began as I attended High Plains elementary where I found a love for city league football and basketball, being with friends and family, Karate, four-wheeling in the beautiful Rocky Mountains in Colorado, and worshiping regularly at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I maintained the same routine in Middle school and decided to get a little crazier by adding scouting and student council to my plate. Things such as seminary, Madden Tournaments, Dating, Leadership positions, earning the Eagle Scout award, and community service could summarize my high school years. You and I would probably agree that Colorado Springs treated me nicely right? Words can't describe the gratitude I have towards my heavenly father for the family, friends, area, schools, teachers, leaders, and influences that this special part of the world gave me. The thing that truly hasn't been given adequate praise nor recognition is really the source of where all this comes from...including the city itself... that's my Heavenly Father and my Savior Jesus Christ. I know they together have given me a perfect gospel, or plan, for not only my temporal contentment but for my eternal joy! You and I are 100% similar in this case because their gospel is our gospel that they invite us to live. The savior himself taught simply enough "he inviteth them all to come unto him and partake of his goodness; and he denieth none that come unto him..." (2 Ne 26:33). I have accomplished what I have accomplished and am on the path I am today because of them and what they have offered me. I have been given talents and abilities from the most high. I have tools and resources for help and strength! As I use all these resources I feel closer to them and can testify that I know they are real and are full of love! The "719" let me experience happiness which came from the only true source of Joy. Thank God for Colorado Springs!
